US Adult Baseball - Spring Training Classic (Fort Pierce, FL)

Game 1 - 5-1 loss to Dade City (FL)

...The A's came up short in their season opener falling to the eventual tournament co-champs by a 5-1 score.   Adam Bigus led the way with two hits (2B) while Curt Pryal, MIke Martin, Dylan Detert, and TJ Roberts each chipped in with a hit apiece.  The trio of Nick Erd (5IP, 4 ER.4 K's, Loss), Pryal (2IP, ER), and Martin (IP, K) kept the A's in the game on the mound.  

 

Game 2 - 9-8 loss to Sewaren (NJ)

...The A's dropped a back-and-forth game 9-8 Sewaren (NJ) last night on a 9th-inning walkoff.  Dylan Detert (2B), Joe Ferro, and Mike Martin led the way with two hits apiece.  The A's left an outrageous 20 guys on base so had plenty of opportunities to pull away, but those missed opportunities came back to haunt them in the end.  Mike Martin (7IP +, 4 ER, 2 K's) tossed a nice game on the mound. 

 

Game 3 - 2-0 loss to Puerto Rico

...The A's dropped their third game of the trip by a 2-0 score to Puerto Rico on Saturday morning.  Jim Ziegler (6IP, R, 4 K's) and Adam BIgus (3IP, R, K) kept the A's within striking distance on the mound, but it wasn't enough as the A's only mustered 4 hits.  Jared Chesak led the way offensively with two hits. 

 

Game 4 - 11 win over Caribe Stars (FL)

...In the final game of the tournament, the bats finally came to life while Nick Rosenthal was masterful on the mound in an 11-0 win.  Rosey tossed a complete game shutout needing just 98 pitches as he punched out 9 on the mound.  Offensively things were led by Dylan Detert (2 RBI's) and Mike Martin (2 RBI's) who finished with three hits apiece. TJ Roberts, Jared Chesak (RBI), Adam Bigus (RBI) and Rosey (2B, RBI) all chipped in with two hits each.
